When it comes to facial rejuvenation and collagen stimulation, it's no longer just "hyaluronic acid" that's being discussed. We're in the age of biostimulant products : calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa), polylactic acid (PLLA), and polycaprolactone (PCL) are emerging as new generation collagen-stimulating agents. So what's the difference between these three? Which one is the right choice for which skin type, age, or expectations?

🔬 1. CaHa (Calcium Hydroxyapatite)

CaHa microspheres are embedded in a carrier gel and, when applied, both add volume and stimulate collagen production.

  • Advantages: Provides instant fullness; has a strong lifting effect.

  • Disadvantages: There may be a risk of granulation in thin skin.

  • Suitable for: Individuals aged 35-55 who are experiencing volume loss, have good skin quality, but have sagging facial contours.

🧬 2. PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid)

PLLA particles trigger new collagen synthesis through fibroblast activation within weeks of injection.

  • Advantages: Natural, slow, and lasting results (18–24 months).

  • Disadvantages: The volumizing effect starts later; requires an experienced practitioner.

  • For whom: Ideal for patients over 40 with poor overall tissue quality and a "tired" appearance.

🧫 3. PCL (Polycaprolactone)

PCL combines the rapid effect of CaHa in terms of collagen stimulation and fullness with the lasting effect of PLLA .

  • Advantages: Effective for 18-24 months; homogeneous collagen production; natural results.

  • Disadvantages: It is irreversible and requires careful indication.

  • For whom: Middle-aged to older users who want a long-lasting effect but don't want an "overly full" look.

Aim

Best Product

Instant lifting

CaHa

Gradual rejuvenation is a natural result.

PLA

Long-term, balanced collagen stimulation.

PCL

Every patient has a different age, skin quality, lifestyle, and expectations. Therefore, the “best product” varies from person to person — the right product, when used for the right indication, delivers excellent results.

✍️ In conclusion;

The success of biostimulant products depends not only on the quality of the product but also on the correct selection of indications and the experience of the practitioner. Each of these three agents has its own unique “personality” — making the right match is key to natural rejuvenation.
